Carmex Moisture Plus Lip Tints Balm Review (+Giveaway!)

A couple months back I was given the opportunity to join Carmex's Blog Squad and I jumped at the chance! I have been a Carmex user since as long as I can remember! The first tube of chapstick that I ever owned was an original tube of Carmex and all these years it has stayed a staple in my makeup bag!

When Carmex sent me 2 of their newest products, the Moisture Plus Lip Tints in Sheer Peach and Sheer Pink to try out, I was thrilled!

I had already purchased both of these balms myself a few months back, but was running quite low on both of them! The colors of these balms are very nice, not too over the top or too sheer, they give just the right ammount of color that stays put for hours and keeps moisturizing the whole time!

The packaging is very sleek, a much longer, thinner tube than a standard lip balm, looking more like a lipstick tube, in my opinion. I love that the cap stays on way better in my bag than with a standard chapstick, I have destoyed many lip balms by tossing them into my bag and having the little cap come off, but nope, these click shut and stay shut until you open them!

My overall opinion of these 2 tinted lip balms is that they are absolutely WONDERFUL! I love having the option of color without having to put on lipstick or gloss. My only wish for Carmex would be for them to have more of a color range. Right now there are just 2 shade options, but I would love to see a red tint or even some neutral tints. This is a line I think would do wonderfully with a little bit of developing!

The Moisture Plus Lip Tints can be found exclusively at Walgreens, Drugstore.com and Carmex's own website and retail around $2.99 each.

Now for the fun part...

Carmex has provided me with a set of 2 of these Moisture Plus Lip Tints to give away to a lucky blog followers!

Project 10-- Scents & Suds Edition!

Over the last couple weeks I have realized something.

I have entirely TOO many bath products!

Then again, is there really such thing as TOO MANY PRODUCTS?!

I guess I should explain...

My linen closet is more full of beauty related things than actual linens. My friend Mark often refers to this closet as the "Bath & Body Closet." My lotions, body sprays, shower gels, candles, etc. take up 3 of 4 shelves! And trust me, it's hard squeezing all the towels on to just one shelf!

So, in an effort to par down how much I have on hand, I've been trying to use up things completely before moving on to the next, something sort of like "Project 10 Pan," only with Bath & Body products.

So far, so good. Less than 2 weeks in, and I've already used up a few items from the closet and nearly finished with a couple others!

Project 10-- Scents & Suds Edition
1. Victoria's Secret Garden 8oz Pure Seduction Body Spray
2. John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Volumizing Shampoo
3. Slatkin & Co 4oz Kitchen Spice Candle

I will keep you guys updated on my journey to an emptier closet!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

A couple months ago, Rimmel came out with a new mascara called Lash Accelerator. Lash Accelerator is a mascara with Avec Grow Lash Complex in the formulation, which claims to make your lashes look 80% longer lashes instantly and will nourish and strengthen your lashes, promoting natural lash growth for 117% longer lashes after 30 days.

After seeing a couple ads on TV and in magazines, I was sold! I HAD to give this a try! My lashes have always been somewhat thin and very short, anything I can do to get them to grow a little is worth a shot!

This mascara runs around $8.99-$9.99 depending on where you decide to make your purchase.

Walgreens was running a 50% sale on Rimmel products, and I had acquired a coupon for $3 off of the Lash Accelerator mascara somewhere along the way, so I decided to go ahead and make my purchase. For just $1.79 the Lash Accelerator was MINE!

I brought it home and immediately opened up the package!

First thing I noticed when I opened the bottle is that the brush is a bristle type brush, rather than the rubber nub ones that are so popular right now! I like the rubber nub brushes, but I think the bristle style brushes give a better overall application, so this excited me!

The brush itself is not too large, nor too small in my opinion, it’s just right. The wand comes out clean from the tube without much excess product, which is also a plus! I hate when the mascara is already clumped on your brush before you even get it on your lashes!

Upon first application, with just 2 coats, my lashes DID look longer, though I don’t know if I could say 80% longer. The brush did a great job seperating my lashes, it didn’t clump up and it held a curl nicely.

I’ve now been using the Lash Accelerator for the full 30 days and I have noticed some lash growth, but again, I can’t say it’s the 117% they claim, but the product DOES work.

Something I have done with this mascara, is to use it as a “primer” for my lashes. Just a thin coat over my lashes before using another mascara over the top, and it works great for that as well. My favorite combo is Lash Accelerator with Maybelline’s The Falsies over top.

Overall, I really think it’s a great mascara, and I will repurchase once my tube is empty.

Why I've been so "Quiet" since March

I started this blog with good intentions. I was going to use it as an outlet into the beauty community, and it seemed like I was off to a decent start after my first review. Shortly after making my first real review on this blog, and while I was doing research for my second, I became very ill, and for the last few months, my blog has been silent....

DUN DUN DUUUNNNNN!

I mentioned in my review of the Go 360* Cleanser that my skin had been acting up...

I never thought that a medical condition could be behind it, but as I soon found out... that was EXACTLY what was causing my skin to go crazy.

After feeling like "poo" for months, I eventually ended up in the ER at the local hospital one evening... Two days later, I found out I had cancer.

For the last 3 months my time has been dedicated to surgeries, hospital stays, appointments, and getting my life back.

I can now say, I am cancer free and VERY ready to start blogging once again, and I thought my readers deserved to know why I haven't been around.

I have a whole line up of reviews and things to come very soon, so please, if you are interested in this sort of thing, remember to follow this blog!=)

L'Oreal Go 360* Cream Cleanser for Sensitive Skin

My normal facial cleansers just weren't working for me anymore, for some reason, I started getting weird breakouts that I had never had before. This bummed me out, so I started searching for something new that would help me balance things out again.

While browsing around Walgreens one evening I ran across a display of L'Oreal's newest facial cleanser, GO 360*. There are 4 different cleansers in this line and I picked the one for sensitive skin. In the past few months, my skin has decided it doesn't like a lot of things, so I thought this would be the best option for me. The cleanser retails for $6.99 and I have seen it go on sale from time to time since purchasing mine.

The GO 360* Cream Cleanser is unique, in that it includes a tool called the "Scrublet" that you use with the cleanser to wash your face. It's actually quite nice and does a wonderful job, better than my expectations! I use makeup remover first, and this cleaners always finds tons of leftover makeup that it left behind, so I know it's really cleaning up what was missed when I can see it on the scublet!

The cleanser itself is gentle. I've had no reactions and it leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed. My husband came in today while I was cleaning my face and commented that it smelled like the ocean, so I guess it smells good, too! There is no drying or tightening to speak of, and I have noticed a little bit of difference in the size of my pores. (This cleanser boasts that it helps to minimize the size of pores)

The packaging is odd.. The scublet has a little home built right in to the bottle where you can pop it out to use, and back in once you're done scrubbing your face. The flip top cap could be a little sturdier, I have felt like I was going to break it a time or two, but that is just a minor detail.

All said, I would recommend this product HIGHLY, I give it a 5 out of 5!

I purchased this product with my own money and I am in now way affiliated or being compensated by the company which makes this product. This is all my 100% honest opinion.

I decided to start this blog to capture my thoughts and ideas on all things beauty. My reviews of new products, looks I create, you get the idea... So far I have no clue what I am going to write about. Maybe in time it will come to me...
